In-sessional courses for registered students of the University

Semester 2: 30 January - 23 March 2012

What support classes do you offer?

During the teaching session, the University Language Centre provides an extensive range of courses in academic English to help meet the language support needs of international students during their studies here at Manchester. These classes are free of charge to the student and take place in various locations across the Univeristy.

Between October and Easter, courses are offered in the following skills and language development areas:

How can I register for academic support programmes (including in-sessional classes)?

Please note that in order to register for academic support programmes, which include in-sessional classes, you will need to complete the Online Diagnostic test.*

Full timetable information for Semester 2 of the academic session 2011-2012 is now available. You are advised to follow the links in the left hand menu to the various courses we offer, where you can find course timetables and course descriptions.

*If you have been a pre-sessional student with the University Language Centre, or you are registered as a member of staff at the University, then you do not need to take the diagnostic test. You are free to attend classes straightaway as you are automatically registered for Academic Support Programmes.

Individual tutorial support in academic writing will also be available during the teaching session. An early appointment request is highly recommended as the service is very popular and busy througout the academic year.
